I live on the Goldcoast in SE Qld so no verticals AND I'm using a 1.2m offset perched on my little balcony 3 floors up.So whatever I get from Indonesia I'm grateful for. Yes my Bahasa, its pretty bad, only good for directions, ordering food, etc........luckily satellite chat uses universal words so I can follow parts of this site.See you.
Greetings mr.  You live in the usa ... What can catch broadcasts from  Indonesia, if allowed to know what  you are using a dish ...  Great for you.

(top) good at last, i can ask for help from the expert (top)

i'm vilos from malaysia, know nothing about satellite TV but eager to learn as a hobby. I know the medium for this forum is Indonesian and is not too hard for me to understand. And i will keep use english instead of malaysian as my main language to avoid misunderstanding and complexity hahahahha :P so i really hope i can learn something from here.

Anyway, i don't usually do forum so i might need help to guide me to a certain page to solve my problem. Ok, my problem is adding a new channel to satellite tv receiver. To be honest... i have no idea how to start it!! i just know sit back, relax, grab some pop corn and watch the tv. If i face a problem, i just call technician or friends to help. So i decided to be independent this time... so please guide me!! (peace)

i attached together picture of my receiver and dish position-er or what ever it called.

Hi Mr Vilos. Your problem is about the same as mine. At first, all I could do was just changing channels if I got bored with one channel. The technician sent by the store where I bought the satellite-TV set just gave me few number of satellites and channels. At that time I was very satisfied with the new set because I had a lot of channels, clearer pictures and better sound but my satisfaction did not last long after I had joined this forum. I have theoretically learned a lot from this forum starting from installing the hardware, adjusting the east-west movement of the disk, searching new satellites, locking them, scanning for new channels etc. Now I have 21 satellites with more than 1000 channels in my low-end-quality receiver and other satellite gadgets. As a matter of fact, I could have more than that if I had more sophisticated satellite gadgets. I am sorry to have to tell you that I have tried to find the information which I used to read and might be helpful for you in this forum but cannot find it now. It used to be there and was very helpful for the beginners. I have no idea whether it has been moved or deleted.  :o

By the way, I have overheard that using satellite-TV equipments is forbidden in Malaysia.  :omg: Has the ban been lifted?  :good:
