A while ago I was in Yogya for holiday, I found a satellite shop there and wanted to buy
a Dreambox, but they didn't have so I ended up buying an Openbox S9.
I bought it there because it was 250.000 cheaper than here in Bandung.
Now, I am made arrangements to send it back one of these days because it just does
not seem to work with Indovision.
Thanks Yudianto for letting me sending it back.
Sadly, he didn't have a LINUX Box which works with Indovision CAM, I asked if He could
get me a dreambox 800HD(Pro-se....) but couldn't, he also had a Skybox S12 but it also
won't work with Indovision.

Now, the problem I had that as soon as I insert the card the Openbox S9 crashe and reboots
to show only 2 dashes on the display.
I tried to update the software but there was no USB upgrade menu and later I tried with
Serial cable and also doesn't work.
Now I am pretty confident that even the Skybox or newer firmware won't work with the
card reader inside, remember, Bp. Yudianto tried and couldn' get it to work.

Now, a few questions, has anybody there been successfully with inserting an Indovision
Card into the openbox, and if yes on which software.
And another one, is it 100 % guaranteed on a dreambox to work, I had someone reply
to me from Bali(foreigner) and he says it will work.

Yeah, I came to that conclusion as well, better pay a bit extra and have a box that works with
Indovision and is also much more capable.
Sorry to say, the Openbox I had was just trash, crashes when insert a card, resetting the box,
Standby is inconsistent, firmware just suks.
If they opened up the source code then ay least things like this would be fixed, now it's just
stuck with buggy firmware.
I already contacted Kings-Parabola, James will have new DM 800HDPro's soon.

I want to try out such a ticket later on, already got a private message but I won't need it now
since I send back this Openbox.
The thing is also, you need a reliable internet connection, I have tri and it loses it's 3G
connection several times a day.
I can and probably will connect it to my TP-Link MR3420 3G router, it will automatically
reconnect if lose it's connection.
Sad thing is though that It's more difficult to log how much data I use.
I have the 2GB package but get 2.5 GB, the thing is on my mac I have a special program to
log my data, it works well and even when there is a power cut it' still ok.
Not so on the TP-Link router, it will lose it's log so I don't know how much is left.

If everything would be even 99% sure to work in Indonesia it would be Ok, sadly that's not the
case in most places, I don't want to loose my TV when I watch Formula 1 for instance, and I
am pretty sure My girlfriend would hate it to have to deal with this, not only that, if I am not
here she is not able to solve that problem.
You also need a reliable server and the thing is, where to find a server which is reliable and
where the owner really cares.
I know Indonesia, nice country and nice people, I love it here, but when it comes to professional
forget about it, example, is there any reliable furniture store in Indonesia with good quality/price?
That's why it's good we get Ikea here, too much of a wait though, 2014.

But, I have to say, it is already much better than 5-10 years ago, and Indonesia is on the right
track, actually the economy is not in such a slum as Europe or the US.
